Week of August 30th – September 3rd

A Note from Ms. Sickler

As you might imagine, the last few weeks have been a whirlwind of activity here at Harvest. It has been so heartwarming to see our teachers and staff coming together to prepare the building to welcome students once again.

I know that there will be new challenges to solve, new triumphs to celebrate, and new fears to face.  We do not know what the future will bring, but I do know this; on Monday morning we will open the doors to Harvest and welcome all students into classrooms once again. The sights and sounds of children and teachers learning from and with each other, together in one space, will fill the school. And whatever lies ahead, we will face it together.

We will not return to ‘normal,’ but perhaps normal was never the goal. We learned that we are stronger than we knew. We learned that we are braver than we thought. Most importantly, we learned that we are better together.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children, thank you for allowing us to grow and learn together. It is truly an honor.

If you are able to, drop in, when you can, to chalk the walk and welcome the students back to school on Sunday, August 29th. Let’s send them off with a smile & start this school year with positivity. Draw, write, & doodle happy messages. Bring chalk if you have it. Think about bus loop, walk from the parent lot, etc. Let’s do this for the kids!!

I am looking forward to this view filled with our Harvest Hornets on Monday morning!  Please take a look at our arrival/dismissal plan and where your child will line up each morning in THIS presentation.

District Notes

From Dr. Laatsch’s August 27th Community Message:

For the first day of school, August 30th, and the first week of school, we will be requiring and enforcing mask wearing for all students and staff in all grades in this “high” phase of COVID-19 transmission. If a student forgets a mask, we will have an ample supply and will provide a new one. Students are not permitted to go to class without a mask. For elementary students, mask breaks will occur at recess, snack time, and other times throughout the day.  For all students, mask breaks will occur during lunch and when teachers conduct outside events/activities/breaks.
