A Note from Ms. Sickler

Sign up HERE to volunteer to run a station or HERE to be a cheerleader.

This week we are celebrating our VIP Teachers and Staff.  Our Harvest PTA has planned something each day to make sure our staff knows just how special they are.  Thank you to everyone who donated and helped to make this week amazing for our staff.

Finally, remember that our third graders will be taking the MSTEP test this Tuesday and Thursday.  Third grade families, please read this specific message HERE (and shared in your email earlier today).

District Notes

This May 5th – May 7th enjoy the Spring Art Show with art from many Y5-12th grade Saline students at Saline High School Media Center.  If your child has a piece chosen for the show, watch for a letter that will be passed on to them on Monday, May 1st.  Special congratulations to our Harvest Hornet, Zachary O., who colored our poster/invitation for us at Harvest!

I am asking you to vote in Tuesday’s May 2nd election. Saline Area Schools will be on the ballot for an operating millage renewal. This is not a BOND, it is a 10 year millage renewal proposal that is part of the normal, day-to-day, funding structure for all Michigan School Districts.

If you only own one home, you would NOT pay this millage. It would be paid by second home owners, businesses and all other non-principal residence property owners.

It would help SAS continue to generate a little over $8.5 million dollars for the GENERAL OPERATING budget (the budget that helps pay for teachers and other staff members) on an annual basis for the next 10 years.

More information about this millage renewal proposal can be found by going to www.salineschools.org and by clicking on the pop-up button “Millage Renewal 2023.”

If you already voted by absentee, thank you. Again, please vote in tomorrow’s May 2nd election.

Thank you,

Emily Sickler
