A Note from Ms. Sickler
- On Monday, grade levels are celebrating fall parties at different times based on their daily schedule. At Harvest, classrooms and grade levels strive to create fall parties that are inclusive and joyful for all students that we serve. If your child chooses to bring/wear a costume to school on Monday, wearing a costume that appropriates a marginalized community causes harm and may marginalize members of that community; this is the opposite of creating a safe and inclusive environment.

- Young 5s: 9:15-10:15am
- Kindergarten: 9:00-10:am
- First Grade: 9:15-10:15am
- Second Grade: 10:45-11:45am
- Third Grade: 2:15-3:15pm
- On Tuesday, our building will be watching Monsters, Inc. and enjoying popcorn as our final Harvest Fun Run reward! If your family does not want your child to watch this movie, please email harvestoffice@salineschools.org so we can make alternate plans for your child when the movie is being shown in their classroom.

- Thank you, Harvest PTA, for bringing author Josh Funk to visit our Young 5s, kindergarten, and first-grade classes on Friday. Check out Josh’s webpage HERE that includes activity kits with coloring pages, word searches, and more, as well as book songs and trailers (all free to watch, listen to, download, and print).

- All registered voters may vote via absentee ballot for the Tuesday, November 8, 2022 election. Absentee ballots are available now through your local City or Township Clerk’s office. - Now that school is in full swing and as we enter influenza season, we are starting to see increased illness in the school setting. We continue to navigate COVID in the community and as you may be aware, RSV rates are also on the rise in the pediatric population. You may have seen this illness trend referred to as the “Triple Threat”. To help prevent spread, we ask that parents encourage handwashing, keep students home when they are sick and consult with their primary care provider to determine if COVID, influenza, RSV or other (strep, etc) testing is recommended. Please report any positive tests to the school for aggregate tracking purposes. In general, children should not attend school when experiencing a fever (must be fever-free for 24 hours), vomiting and diarrhea. In addition, children recovering from RSV and the flu should have improving symptoms and feel well enough to participate in school prior to returning. For detailed guidance, please refer to the MDHHS document Managing Communicable Disease in Schools. As a district, we will continue to monitor for illness trends and outbreaks situations at school and notify classrooms and buildings affected per the guidance of the Washtenaw County Health Department.
