Week of September 26th – September 30th

A Note from Ms. Sickler

This week I’ll be out of the district from Tuesday – Thursday attending a conference with other Saline Area School staff members, sharing the great things we are doing here in Saline, and learning new ideas to bring back to our district.  Kevin Musson, our interim Special Education Director (who previously was Pleasant Ridge’s principal prior to retirement) will be stepping in as acting principal.  Feel free to reach out to me via email (sicklere@salineschools.org) while I am away.

Our Harvest Fun Run is on Friday, October 7th!  We will have students be participating outside on our playground track during the following times:

  • 9:10-9:40 AM Young 5 & Kindergarten
  • 9:55-10:25 AM 3rd Grade
  • 10:30-11:00 AM 1st Grade
  • 11:05-11:35 AM 2nd Grade

If you are interested in joining us, please sign up HERE.

Remember, this is our ONE fundraiser for the year and provides the PTA with the funds to pay for many awesome things! Every dollar donated is VERY appreciated!  On Friday, October 7th we will stretch our legs, run some laps, and have some fun outside all while raising money for our school!

We are at 70% of our goal, and have received donations from 28 out of 50 states, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Germany!  We have already passed two of our goals.  We are still working towards the goal of having Kona Ice at our Fun Run on October 7th.

Did You Know?

School Bus Clipart Images – Browse 3,225 Stock Photos ...

Did you know due to staff shortages, the SAS Transportation Department has created routes to be as efficient as possible, causing many of them to be very full?  As a result, they cannot accommodate students riding to/from school with friends.  Students are assigned to a stop at/near their home registered address, and this will be the only location transportation will be provided for.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If a student does go on a bus with a friend and it is noticed while at the school building, they will be sent to the office to call home.  If a student is on a bus and not noticed until the route is in progress, the transportation office staff will make a call to parents to make arrangements for picking up the student at the transportation office or a school building.
